ABOUT THE GAME

99 chances, zero decoration

You Have 99 Lives started as a game in Construct, and got left behind as the original engine fell out of use. This version is an honest, independent remake: it's not a Construct export, it doesn't use the original runtime, it's vanilla HTML/CSS/JavaScript built from scratch, looking at the original game as a reference, not a dependency.

Nine levels take you from the intro to the finish, testing movement precision, timing, and reflex against spikes, moving blocks, and pits, all with a black-and-white aesthetic that never distracts from any of it. After winning, a harder, non-linear New Game Plus opens up, still under construction.

NOTE FROM IDEABOB

Why I made this

This original game was mine, built in Construct, and it got left behind as the project became hard to maintain. I rebuilt it from scratch to give a second life to an idea I didn't want to let die, and "You Have 99 Lives" ended up with a somewhat literal meaning in all of that.
