ABOUT THE GAME
Zero, one, and the space between them
Every piece on the board is a 0 or a 1. You play as Zero (turns 1s into 0s) or as One (turns 0s into 1s). Zero always picks first each round, but both moves are revealed and applied together. Ten rounds, and whoever has the largest connected groups of their own color wins: a cluster of size 3 or more counts as its size squared, so large groups are worth disproportionately more.
The board can take six shapes: square, rectangle, diamond, hexagon, donut, or cross, and every match can turn into a shareable link, both to watch a replay and to play by turns from a distance.
HOW TO PLAY
Controls
Just click the piece you want to flip, no keyboard, no combos. The game tells you whose turn it is and which color you should pick. A quick "How to Play" tutorial shows up on the first match and can be reviewed anytime from the menu.
TECH SHEET
Credits
Zero external dependencies, zero bundler, just modern HTML, CSS, and JS. The rules engine is a pure library, tested and free of global state, reusable even outside the game (there's an embeddable version of the board as a web component). Sound effects synthesized via Web Audio.
NOTE FROM IDEABOB
Why I made this
After so many projects full of art, sound, and narrative, I wanted a counterpoint: a game that could stand on the rule alone. B1N0 is that, nothing to hide behind aesthetics, just the tension of deciding where to place the next piece knowing the other side is deciding at the same time, blind.
